Wow! What a crazy last few days.
I had a doctors appointment scheduled for Wednesday 10-6-10 and when I got to the office, my doctor had been called out on a C-Section and wasn't available. They tried to get me to reschedule for the next day but something just wasn't right. I had been cramping and as much as I believed it was nothing, my Mom and Shane didn't think so. So, I told the receptionist I needed to come back that day because of the cramping and they got me in at 1:30pm. So, Shane and I went back at 1:30. I really was expecting my doctor to tell me to just take it easy and get rest and not do so much but thats not really the case!! She checked me and I was already dialated to 4.5!! She said I needed to go to the hospital to be monitored and see how close my contractions were. I couldnt believe it! I was in labor! So, we went back to work to get our stuff and tell everyone we were leaving, we went home and got our suitcase and the babies car seat - just in case... and we got to the hospital about 2:45pm.
I checked into labor and delivery and they immediately started monitoring me. My contractions were about 5 minutes apart. I was completely thinned and when my doctor got the hospital to check on me she said "were going to have a baby today!!" I couldn't believe it!! I wasn't suppose to have Kalynn until November 4th!
I got an epidural and it worked great at first but then I started to slowly begin to feel my contractions. The epidural wasnt working anymore!! To make things worse, my doctor came in and decided my contractions were so close together that it was time to break my water and deliver. So, I was feeling EVERYTHING and it was the worse pain of my life!! But when I heard Kalynn cry for the first time, it was so sweet!! She was perfect. They gave her an apgar score of 10 and kept talking about how perfectly pink she was. She weighed 5lbs 13oz and 20in long. She is so teeny tiny but perfect.
Brody couldn't be more excited. He is such a good brother and wants to take care of her and help with everything. He gets upset when she cries because he is not sure whats wrong but he is learning how to figure out what she is crying about. He likes to give her her binky and he loves it when she holds his hand. It is so great seeing him try to take care of her. I just love both of them so much!!
So, we left the hospital yesterday (Friday, October 8th) and now were just at home adjusting to having a little one around. She is such a good baby and things are going great!!
Here is a picture of Brody and Kalynn when we were getting ready to take her home. I have lots more pictures Ill upload later...
